BRYAN, Ohio -- June 25, 2003 -- In response to a patent infringement suit filed by Larami Limited, a subsidiary of Hasbro, Inc., The Ohio Art Company stated today, with regard to the design and manufacturing of its A.R.M. 4000 XL water gun, the company (Ohio Art) has not infringed on any patents owned by Larami.
According to Ohio Art president Larry Killgallon, "We have not infringed on the two proprietary patents owned by Larami, and there is absolutely no merit to the injunction being sought by Larami. The design and mechanical technology that differentiates the A.R.M. 4000 XL is in fact proprietary to the Ohio Art Company and differs significantly from any water products from Larami."
The Ohio Art Company will vigorously defend the motion for a temporary injunction that was filed by Larami in the United States District Court for the District of New Jersey.
Established in 1908 and headquartered in Bryan, Ohio, the Ohio Art Company is one of the world's best-known toy companies and creator of the famous Etch A Sketch drawing toy.
