JULY 17, 2003 (San Diego, CA) Wizards of the Coast, Inc., a subsidiary of Hasbro, Inc., and Hasbro Consumer Products Worldwide today announced plans to bring DUEL MASTERS, a new, multifaceted entertainment property for boys, to the U.S. market this fall beginning with a comic book series from Dreamwave Productions. DUEL MASTERS is a highly popular property in Japan, where kids enjoy it through comic books, toys, games and other merchandise.

DUEL MASTERS quickly gained a following as a comic book series in Japan, with an estimated 1.6 million readers. Dreamwave has won numerous awards for its development of the best-selling TRANSFORMERS comic book series and is one of the industrys premier publishers, producing a range of original and licensed titles.

"DUEL MASTERS has all of the right elements for a fun, compelling comic, from a courageous hero at its center, to a fantastic world of creatures and lands for readers to explore," said Dreamwave President and Art Director Pat Lee, who co-founded Dreamwave Productions in 1996 with his brother, Roger Lee. "We're pleased to be part of the team that will be bringing DUEL MASTERS to the U.S. audience."

"Dreamwave has done an absolutely fantastic job in translating the TRANSFORMERS saga into a comic book series and they are the ideal choice to help us launch DUEL MASTERS in the U.S.," said Tom Klusaritz, Vice President of Publishing for Hasbro Consumer Products.

The DUEL MASTERS comic books make their way to comic book stores everywhere in the U.S. this fall. Attendees at this week's Comi-Con in San Diego will get a sneak-peek at the comics in development (Dreamwave, booth #3249).
