PAWTUCKET, R.I. -- July 23, 2003 -- Hasbro, Inc. announced today that Kenneth Romanzi, 43, has joined the company as President of its U.S. Toys division.
In this role, Mr. Romanzi will report to Brian Goldner, President of the U.S. Toys Segment, and oversee the group's day-to-day operations. In addition to his role as President of the U.S. Toys Segment, Mr. Goldner recently assumed responsibility for heading up the Company's Operations Segment, which is based in the Far East.
"Ken Romanzi brings more than 20 years of marketing and retail experience to Hasbro," said Brian Goldner. "His skills will be a great asset as we look to grow our core brands and our retail presence. Ken's extensive leadership and management experience further enhances the strength of our management team."
Mr. Romanzi joins Hasbro from the Ultimate Juice Company where he served as President and CEO of the $130 million-dollar premium juice company. Prior to that, Mr. Romanzi was President and CEO of Balducci's Direct, a gourmet food catalog business.
Mr. Romanzi also served in positions of increasing responsibility at Nabisco, Inc., including President, Sales and Logistics of Nabisco Foods Group, responsible for four operating divisions with $2.5 billion in annual revenue, and Cadbury Schweppes, as Vice President Marketing/Strategic Planning, North America.
A graduate of Babson College, Mr. Romanzi's marketing career began at Frito-Lay, Inc.
