"KING OF ART" STEPHEN "HOOP" HOOPER TO UNVEIL ONE-OF-A-KIND MATCHBOX HERO CITY VEHICLE

WHO/WHAT:

On Saturday, August 23rd, Matchbox drives into Manhattan and parks at Chelsea Piers: Pier Sixty and Pier Sixty-two from 9:00AM to 5:00PM. A one-of-a-kind police vehicle decorated with hundreds of Matchbox cars will be on display with its designer, self-proclaimed "King of Art" Stephen "Hoop" Hooper. Families can bring their Matchbox collection to find out its worth as they catch a glimpse of the most Unique and Valuable Matchbox cars ever created. Plus, with an extensive kids play area including a Moonwalk and a Power Wheels test track, the Matchbox Toy Show & CARnival will be a fun free day for the entire family.

FUN ACTIVITIES TO INCLUDE:

CARnival ~ Chelsea Piers: Pier 62

A police cruiser decorated with hundreds of Matchbox cars will be on display with its creator self-proclaimed "King of Art" Stephen "Hoop" Hooper.

Families can view the most UNIQUE & VALUABLE Matchbox cars and meet with Matchbox aficionado Everett Marshall, proprietor of one of the largest Matchbox collections in the world, to find out just how much their very own Matchbox collection is worth.

Kids will have a blast as they hop in the Moonwalk or jump on a Power Wheels® vehicle for real driving fun.

TOY SHOW ~ Chelsea Piers: Pier 60

Thousands of Matchbox enthusiasts including collectors from as far away as Australia, Germany and across the United States will converge in New York City for this one day spectacular to display and sell their private Matchbox® collections filled with rare and valuable pieces.

For as little as a dollar, almost anyone's dream car can be purchased in diecast scale and a lifetime of collecting, swapping and fun can begin!

Extensive children's play area featuring Matchbox playsets, great prize giveaways for children under 12 and limited edition Matchbox Toy Show cars and shirts for sale, will make this a Matchbox day to remember.
