LOS ANGELES -- Aug. 4, 2003 -- The new kid's action-adventure animated show, Z-Force, has begun production in Los Angeles. A direct-to-video DVD/VHS release will be completed in Spring 2004, and will be followed by a TV Series for Fall of 2004.
E-Content will control the property rights and the sales and marketing administration for Z-Force and will receive revenues from commissions and fees in return. In addition, the Company will own a substantial profit participation position in the Z-Force property. Peter Keefe, E-Content President and Creator/Producer of the Z-Force show, states: "In 2002, American kids spent 20 billion dollars on Toys. Video Game sales earned over 10 billion dollars and DVD/VHS sales and rentals will reach the 20 billion dollar level in 2003, led by kid's titles. Z-Force is poised to be a major competitor in the phenomenal kids licensing business."
Dwayne Corbitt, of Head Start/Legendary Entertainment, the financial backer for the Z-Force property, adds: "USA Today reports that the Power Rangers kids property still generates 1 billion dollars in annual merchandise sales after being on TV for 11 years... we are confident that the Z-Force has that same tremendous hit potential."
The Z-Force show revolves around the adventures of 12 young men who posses secret alter-egos that transform them into the heroic costume characters of the Oriental Zodiac -- like the Dragon, Tiger, Snake and Monkey.
The Z-Force property can be previewed shortly when the E-Content Web Site is launched.
