JAKKS Pacific is preparing for the release of one of the most significant advances in the action figure industry in along time, figures created using Real Scan technology. The Real Scan figures were first unveiled at the Toy Fair and have been the talk of the action figure world ever since.Real Scan technology allows any object to be scanned, using lasers, creating a three dimensional model in a computer that is then used to create a clay or wax output that is virtually identical in detail to the original object scanned. In this case, the objects scanned are your favorite World Wrestling Federation Superstars.
This first assortment from JAKKS to utilize the technology is the upcoming Double Slam 4, scheduled to be released in May. Double Slam 4 is the latest in JAKKS' series of 2 packs, and also features the Titan Tron Live technology introduced late last year that interacts with the Titan Tron playset and the just released Trash Talkin' Stage playset.
JAKKS has provided images of these figures and, as you can see from the closeups especially, the likenesses are uncanny. A good many of the WWF wrestlers have already been scanned for use in upcoming figures later in the year, and beyond.
