December 10, 2003 (SEATTLE) Fire for Effect, the first expansion to the award-winning MechWarrior: Dark Age™ collectable miniatures game, is officially sold out in the United States. No further Fire for Effect figures will be produced, and the last cases have shipped from the WizKids warehouse. North American distributors still have a limited quantity of Fire for Effect to offer retailers.
Fire for Effect introduced artillery units to the MechWarrior: Dark Age game, which rapidly became a staple of many gaming armies and collections. It expanded the Knights of the Sphere, the self-appointed guardians of peace and order in the Dark Age of the 32nd Century MechWarrior Inner Sphere.
The next MechWarrior expansion, Counterassault, releases next January. Counterassault returns 'Mechs® to their position as rulers of the battlefield with upgraded triple-strength myomer technology, longer ranges, and previously-unseen designs.
