January 21, 2004 (SEATTLE) WizKids LLC, makers of the best-selling Mage Knight™, MechWarrior®: Dark Age and HeroClix® collectable miniatures games (CMGs), is proud to introduce the MLB™ SportsClix™ game to their Retailer Support Program. The program falls under WizKids' hugely successful Approved Play Program.
"A new game required innovative retailer support," said Jordan Weisman, WizKids® CEO. "WizKids prides itself on its creativity and industry leadership, and the program for SportsClix demonstrates this once again." MLB™ SportsClix, the first joint venture between WizKids and parent company Topps Inc., hits stores February 24, 2004.
The MLB™ SportsClix Retailer Support Program features a Marquee event, which focuses on the set's release; monthly league play, in which players keep track of their teams' progress over a "season"; and Hot Streak, a quick-play format. WizKids provides free prize support for Marquee and league games run at venues that participate in the Approved Play system.
