Elkridge, MD (January 23, 2004) - Palisades Toys is proud to announce the acquisition of the Factory X brand of prop replicas and collectibles. The Maryland-based company will take over the branding of the Pennsylvania-based company, effective immediately.
"We are very excited about this announcement," Palisades President and CEO Michael Horn commented. "For a long time, I've had a fascination with the Prop Replica category; and, in particular, I have always admired the Factory X brand. We [Palisades] were first introduced to their team in early 2003, and mutual admiration of our products led to a strong bond of friendship between the two companies. And, of course, that relationship has led us to where we are today."
Palisades will take over the brand name "Factory X," the Factory X intellectual property, the website (www.FactoryX.com), and selected licenses from its library. Exact properties to continue under the Palisades umbrella are under licensor approval and will be announced shortly.
"We have a lot of respect for Palisades and their line or products," Factory X President Tim Wenhold stated. "To roll our product lineup into the Palisades family will do great things for the brand."
"Our intention is to continue to market our new prop replica products under the 'Factory X' brand name and to produce the statues and busts under our Palisades brand," Horn continued. "Factory X will live on as a Palisades brand!"
Wenhold and the Factory X staff will stay on in a consulting capacity.
