Sideshow Update: LOTR, Van Helsing
|
January 24, 2004 - Sideshow Collectibles has quite a bit going on lately on their web site:
- The new Lord of the Rings items announced last week are now available for pre-orders. No images have yet been posted of some of these pieces, but more images should be available during the American International Toy Fair, which runs from February 15th to 18th.
The new LOTR items for 2004 are: - Morgul Lord Statue (the Witch-king of Angmar)
- Eowyn Statue (Eowyn as Dernhelm, it is a companion piece to the Witch-King statue)
- Haradhrim Soldier Statue
- Gandalf on Shadowfax statue
- TTT: The Balrog Statue (this is a new sculpture in smaller scale than the previous Balrog statue)
- Sauron Statue
- "A Meeting of Old Friends" Plaque (Gandalf and Bilbo at Bag End, from Fellowship of the Ring)
- Helm's Deep Environment
- The Golden Hall Environment
More pieces will be announced during Toy Fair.
- Another Lord of the Rings collectible piece is also available for pre-orders, the Barad-Dur Art Print. It is a framed art piece which includes a Giclee of John Howe's concept art and a flim strip from The Two Towers, with a light to illuminate the strip.
- The 12-inch Van Helsing action figure is now available for pre-order. This version of Hugh Jackman as the title character from the Van Helsing film includes special accessories for the first 500 customers. Be sure to scroll to the bottom of that page to see several more images of the figure.
- The modern version of Leatherface has been "unveiled" (but not unmasked)... the 12-inch modern Leatherface action figure comes with a chainsaw, an axe, and a hand collection as his accessories, and the first 500 figures ordered also include a sledgehammer.
