TIMONIUM, MD (February 3, 2004) - Diamond Select Toys and Moore Action Collectibles (MAC) are putting the Slayer's favorite Wicca into fan's hands this March. MAC had previously announced the Buffy action figure line was ending, but then founder and lead sculptor Clayburn Moore approached DST about re-launching the line. "It's rare that an opportunity like this, a great product that's a perfect fit, falls into your lap - we were all eager to start working on Buffy," said Andy Livingston, Marketing & Sales Coordinator for DST. The result of this powerhouse union will be seen with the release of six different Willow figures.
"Willow is the anchor of the line. The character's popularity, her importance to the story, and her crossover presence between BTVS and Angel has led to the strongest demand for this character in the action figure line," stated Clayburn Moore.
Season 5 Willow and Transformation Willow will be available at Tower Records, Musicland locations as well as comic book and specialty shops. Transformation Willow is a chase figure, Doppelgangland Willow is a Previews/Toyfare exclusive, available through a special offer in ToyFare Magazine or for purchase through comic book and specialty stores. Vampire Willow is only available through the offer in ToyFare Magazine. Dark Witch Willow is another exclusive, this time through Cinequest.com. Finally, White Witch Willow, as seen in the series finale, was an exclusive offered through the Moore Action Collector's Club.
Diamond Select Toys will continue to produce action figures from the fan-favorite Buffy the Vampire Slayer television show throughout 2004. Both figures previously sculpted by MAC, as well as some totally new ones. In addition to single figures, special boxed sets will be produced, celebrating characters or moments from Buffy's seven-year run. The first of these boxsets is the Willow's Spellbook, which is exclusive to Time and Space Toys and Musicland stores. Limited to 3,000 pieces, this set includes special versions of the Vampire, Dark Witch and White Witch Willow figures.
