MALIBU, Calif. - February 9, 2004 - JAKKS Pacific, Inc. announced today that it has entered into a worldwide licensing agreement with Marvel Enterprises to market and distribute TV Games products based on the ever-popular Spider-Man® property. TV Games is an innovative new game concept that allows users to play the Spider-Man game on any television set with the use of a dedicated character based hand-held device. All that is needed are batteries and a television. Simply plug the TV Games game into the A/V jacks of any standard television set, turn on and play! The lightweight, compact, all-inclusive controller will house five original Spider-Man games, with all of the hardware built right in to the controller.
"JAKKS is pleased to align with Marvel to produce TV Games based on their highly successful and action-packed brand, Spider-Man," commented Stephen Berman, president and chief operating officer, JAKKS Pacific, Inc. "We have had a phenomenal response to the TV Games titles we have launched thus far and we are confident Spider-Man will be a strong addition to the line."
"Spider-Man is one of the Marvel Universe's most exciting and popular Super Hero® properties and is a perfect fit for TV Games," commented Russell Brown, executive vice president, Marvel Enterprises Consumer Group. "We always look to partner with companies that will accentuate and elevate our popular properties in innovative ways and in engaging formats."
