LOS ANGELES, CA. (February 28, 2004) - Since 1960, The Amazing Live Sea-Monkeys® phenomenon has excited children of all ages. Majestic Studios has created 6-inch collectible action figures of these timeless classics to remind adults of, and introduce children to, the innocent joy of Sea-Monkeys.

First advertised from the backs of comic books for $1.00, they grew and grew in popularity until everyone knew someone who had bought these instant pets. They were guaranteed to grow and provide you with "A Bowlful of Happiness!" and still do today.

According to Rick Phares, CEO of Majestic Studios, "We believe The Amazing Live Sea-Monkeys® will be our most significant retro toy launch to date. The classic nature of the characters combined with the simulated underwater environment will provide tremendous inspiration to the nostalgia collector. If you look at it closely, they were the first Pokemon. When you saw the ad in the comic book, you wanted to collect them all."

Now you can collect them all because Majestic is releasing the entire Sea-Monkey Family in mid-April, 2004. There will be five groupings to choose from: single packs of the Father and one of the Mother Sea-Monkey, a double pack of the young Son and Daughter, and two large groups featuring Father, Son and their pet Sea Horse, and lastly Mother, Daughter and cute Sea Snail. The clamshell style packaging on the single and double packs is designed to resemble a large test tube, while the group packs appear to be an entire fish bowl. The graphics are pure retro, recreating closely the original early 1960's pre-psychedelic era packaging.

Sea-Monkey Trivia
Any proud parent of Sea-Monkeys can tell you that they are in actuality a hybrid of Artemia Salina, or a type of Brine Shrimp. The original ads read, "You'll GASP as you see adorable baby Sea-Monkeys being born ALIVE before your eyes. This miracle of science is even patented by the US Government." And, it was, too.

Guinness Book world record holder, Henry Lamore, designed the first Sea-Monkeys for the ads and packaging. Their design has not changed much over the years because, frankly, they're just too adorable to change. (By the way, Larry won the world's record, according to the Guinness Book of World Records, for greatest high diver, by jumping 40 feet into a children's wading pool filled with only 12-inches of water. An artist, a marketing genius and a children's pool high diver; what a renaissance man! Well... at least a very creative man.)

Now, Majestic Studios can't promise you "Instant Life" like the original Sea-Monkeys Aquariums, but we do promise instant fun with Sea-Monkeys Family action figures that are at your command to play with and enjoy.
