Elvis Presley Vermont Teddy Bear

MEMPHIS, Tenn., March 15 -- In honor of 50 years of Rock and Roll, Elvis Presley Enterprises and its Licensee, The Vermont Teddy Bear Company are teaming up to celebrate the historical recording of Elvis Presley's first song. The Vermont Teddy Bear Company designed and imported a commemorative, limited edition Elvis Bear 2, which is licensed as an Official Elvis Presley Signature Item by Elvis Presley Enterprises. The one-of-a-kind teddy bear will be offered in more than 750 Kroger stores in six states free of charge with a minimum purchase.

50 years ago Elvis Presley recorded "That's All Right" at the legendary Sun Studio in Memphis, TN. The recording of Elvis Presley's first single is recognized as a major event in musical history, and is widely lauded as the "big bang" that helped launch the Rock 'n Roll Era, changing the course of music and popular culture.

The 50th Anniversary promotion brings together The Vermont Teddy Bear Company, selected Kroger stores in several states, and a regional group of independent bakers. This event marks the second time Elvis Presley Enterprises has partnered with Vermont Teddy Bear Company and a bakery to offer these limited edition "Elvis Bears" as a premium. In August 2003 EPE authorized Klosterman Baking Company to offer the "Elvis Bear" in selected Kroger Stores. The promotion was one of the stores most successful to date.

The bakers will offer an 8-inch Teeny Tiny Teddy Bear, Elvis Bear 2 designed and imported by The Vermont Teddy Bear Company, FREE with PURCHASE of selected products, exclusively through regional Kroger stores. The promotion, beginning in April 2004, will feature a completely new design for the Elvis Bear. Each of the specially designed bears is a "one run, limited edition" never to be produced again.

Consumers will be asked to use their Kroger Plus Card, in one of the participating stores and purchase the selected products offered by the participating baker in that area. Once the minimum number of products is purchased, the consumer will receive the commemorative, limited edition Elvis Bear 2 free. The bears will be available in the store, for immediate delivery to the consumer.

The promotion will run for a limited time in Kroger stores March 29 April 24, 2004. The Elvis Bears 2 will be offered to consumers only while supplies last.

More than 750 Kroger stores Michigan, Ohio, Indiana, Kentucky, Tennessee and Mississippi will participate in the promotion. Major markets include Detroit, Columbus, Cincinnati, Dayton, Indianapolis, Louisville, Lexington, Nashville and Memphis.

The participating bakers and their products include: Perfection Bakeries (Michigan, Cities in Ohio and Indiana including -- Toledo and Columbus) Aunt Millies Brand, Klosterman Bakery (Ohio and Kentucky Cities including - Cincinnati, Dayton and Northern Kentucky Region) Klosterman Brand, Lewis Bakeries (Indiana, Kentucky and Tennessee Cities including - Indianapolis, Louisville, Lexington and Nashville) Healthy Life, Southern Country, Bunny, Hartford Farms Brands, Flowers Bakeries (Parts of Kentucky, Mississippi and Tennessee Cities including -- Memphis) Nature's Own Brand.
