April 2004 - Everyone loves free toys, and listed below are several places where you can enter to win free toys and action figures.
Hasbro's promotions page lists several contests (along with various sales of interest). The current prizes include Clone Wars posters, Xevoz action figures, fishing and camping gear, VideoNow items, and a Classic EZ-Bake Oven. Hasbro is also running a My Little Pony contest which ends on April 14th and a NakNak contest which ends on September 3.
IGN.com has a Gundam sweepstakes which ends on April 14th - the prizes are Hyper Hybrid Gundam RX78-2 Model Kits (1/24th scale) and the Mobile Suit Gundam: Encounters in Space game for the PlayStation 2.
The Cartoon Network has a GI Joe Valor vs Venom contest which ends on April 12th. One person will win a custom GI Joe backyard fort, and 200 other people will win GI Joe action figures and vehicles.
MGA Entertainment has a monthly contest for Bratz dolls.
Previews, the monthly catalog/magazine from Diamond Comics Distributors, is giving away Star Wars busts and maquettes from Gentle Giant in their monthly contest. The entries need to be received by May 1, 2004.
Sideshow Collectibles has several contests running: (1) the "Everything or Nothing Giveaway" - win James Bond video games and a Jaws action figure (enter by April 12), (2) the "Classic Freddy Giveaway" - win a 12-inch Freddy Krueger action figure autographed by Robert Englund (enter by May 3), and (3) the EU-only Cave Troll Hammer giveaway - open only to residents of the European Union (enter by April 28).
McFarlane Toys usually has several contests going at the same time - some are on their message boards, but they are all listed on their central page for contests.
LittlePlasticMen is having a Hellboy contest. The prize package is a Hellboy movie one-sheet, signed by director Guillermo del Toro and creator Mike Mignola, and an "Art of Hellboy" book. This contest ends on April 30th.
The Outer Reaches has a new toy contest every month, enter by identifying their "movie quote of the week" - name the movie the quote is from (and get a bonus entry for naming the character who said it).
KidRobot.com often has contests for members of their mailing list. You need to sign up for the list to enter the contest.
MillionairePlayboy.com often has contests for action figures and other toys, as well as the occasional DVD or bit of cool swag.
Action Figure Times has a few contests running: check out ToyGodd's column and the Amazing Justice League of Julius Marx for details on those contests.
The fine folks over at WhoClix are having a contest in preparation for the Marvel Universe re-issue set of Marvel HeroClix from WizKids Games. The Marvel Universe set will feature revamped figural pieces from the Infinity Challenge and Xplosion sets. To enter the contest, you'll need to submit a character bio of one of the characters from the Marvel Universe set. The prizes will include HeroClix figures. Enter by April 30, 2004.
