OAFEnet Seeks Customizers

We're hiring!
Or, well, "recruiting," at least. So, how are you with paints?
In our constant efforts to improve ourselves, we're always looking to give our readers something new. Having the most informative toy reviews around wasn't enough, so we created Figuretoons and Points of Articulation. In order to foster a sense of community and give fans a place to talk toys without any specific company loyalties, we have the Loafing Lounge.
So now we're looking to try something new. You just have to look at the success of endeavors like "Custom Con" to see how popular custom action figures are. If collectors just waited for companies to make toys of the characters they wanted, there would be a lot of disappointed fans. There are hundreds of toy aficionados who aren't afraid to pick up a brush and a bottle of paint to get what they want, whether it's something as simple as a black wash or as complex as a complete retooling.
So we're looking to hire a customizer. While one of our regular contributors, yo go re, has done some customizing before, we want someone who's really dedicated to the art. Someone who can't wait to show off what they've done. Someone who's you know, not as phenomenally slow as him.
Are you interested? Want a public forum to reach viewers who would really appreciate your skills? All we need from you are some samples of your work. You're going to need a camera for this, obviously: can't show off your creations without pictures, after all. Show us what you've done before, let us know what you're planning to do next. Variety helps.
We'll pick our customizer rather arbitrarily - just whoever shows the best samples. That doesn't mean we have to like the characters you've made, or the figures you used as a base, just the work that you've done. If you've got skill, it shows up no matter what. Send a message to [email protected] to let us know where we can see your stuff and you're on your way!
All submissions must be received by May 20th. Any changes will be announced at http://www.oafe.net/jobs.php. We will let the winner know before announcing them to the world. Good luck, have fun, and get those paints flying!
