Dynamic Forces Fan Fest Report

dynamic forces fan fest

April 29, 2004, Runnemede, NJ The first ever, Free Dynamic Forces Fan Fest was held in Runnemede NJ this past weekend (April 24th at the Holiday Inn), and today the company announced that the event was an unqualified success.

"We exceeded all expectations and came away with a satisfaction of a job well done! This show was from the heart, and our way of giving back to the fans who support DF," said Nick Barrucci, Fest Organizer and President of Dynamic Forces. "My sincere thanks to our dynamic guest list, our dynamic employees and volunteers, our dynamic exhibitors and of course, our dynamic fans!"

While no formal attendance numbers are available as the show was free to all attendees, fans mobbed the 3 rooms of the show, forming lines for such creators as Brian Azzarello, Eduardo Risso, Chuck Austen, Jim Starlin, and Howard Chaykin in the morning; Mark Millar, Josh Middleton, and ale Garza in the afternoon; and Marvel Editor-in-Chief Joe Quesada to close out the one-day free event.

"This was without a doubt an OLD SCHOOL comic show," said Michael Renegar, Executive Vice President of Palisades Toys, "[It had] great atmosphere, was professionally run, and best of all, it gave fans a real opportunity to mingle and chat with lots of the best creators in the comic industry. It was a fantastic time, and I can't wait for the next one; congratulations Dynamic Forces!"

After the fans had filled their sketchbooks and comics with creators signatures for the day, the spotlight turned to the CBLDF as Dynamic Forces and the charity hosted the "Pizza with the Pros" for the winners of an earlier auction held to raise funds for the CBLDF.

"Had a blast at this thing. It was big enough to be worth coming to and small enough to let us talk to just about everybody. Transport mix-up meant I was stranded in NYC until 11am, but Wizard's Mike Cotton saved the day by driving me down in his pick-up truck (talk about style!). We stayed until the last book had been signed to make up and the readers were great," said creator Mark Millar of attending. He then added, "I'll take the image of Nick Barrucci singing Sinatra to my grave, unfortunately."

Dynamic Forces would like to thank all attendees, exhibitors and creators for making this event so successful.
