Political Dream Pets Candidates
It was 1960 and the world was watching the first nationally televised debate between presidential candidates John F. Kennedy and Richard M. Nixon. To commemorate this historic moment, R. Dakin created symbolic Elephant and Donkey Dream Pets characters, along with other designs Pets characters, along with other designs that were produced for many years to follow.
This month the political characters will be re-introduced as they were originally designed to Dream Pets collectors, nostalgia buffs and gift-givers worldwide. Demo Donkey and G.O.P. Elephant will be available at specialty and gift stores such as Hallmark, Carlton Cards/American Greetings and Cracker Barrel Old Country Stores® this May for an approximate retail price of $7.99.
VOTE 2004 - Dream Pets Election
2004 isn't only a Presidential election year, but also an opportunity for Dream Pets retailers, customers, friends and family to cast an online vote for their favorite Dream Pets personality. The Dream Pets election, VOTE 2004, will run online at www.dreampets.com from May through November. Every vote counts!
Online ballots will be available at www.dreampets.com, where participants can log on daily to check out live results that show which Dream Pets funster leads the voting competition. The VOTE 2004 hang tags, which contain all the voting rules, are attached to each Demo Donkey and G.O.P. Elephant. This highly anticipated Election Day for the Dream Pets candidates is November 2, 2004. The winning Dream Pets personality will be posted on the website November 3, 2004. A limited edition Dream Pets character will be gifted to 2,004 randomly drawn entries.
