Army of Darkness Army Builder Set

army of darkness action figures

Pittsburgh, PA (May 19, 2004): Online retailer Time & Space Toys (www.timeandspacetoys.com) has signed an agreement with Palisades Toys for exclusive rights to sell an "Army Builder" action figure 2-pack, based on director Sam Raimi's 1993 cult-classic film, Army of Darkness. Part three in the Evil Dead film series, this horror/ comedy/ adventure/ action/ fantasy movie follows the adventures of Ash (Bruce Campbell) as he is transported back in time to 1400 A.D., where he must lead an army of knights to battle against an army of Deadite soldiers.

The Army Builder 2-pack will include the basic core characters needed to expand both armies: a Knight, based on the Sir Arthur knight character, and a Deadite Skeleton soldier. The figures are part of Palisades Toys' new line of highly-detailed 4-inch scale super-poseable action figures based on the film. Both figures in this exclusive set feature unique sculpts which differ from the other figures in this line. Time & Space Toys will be the only official U.S. retailer offering the Army Builder 2-pack to the general public. The Army Builder 2-pack will have the lowest production run of all the 2-packs in this series.

"I'm a huge fan of Sam Raimi, Bruce Campbell, and their films, and we've been involved with the resale of licensed Army of Darkness merchandise from the start," said Time & Space Toys President Kevin Kriess. "When Palisades announced their plans to produce figures of all the characters from the film, I was determined that our store be involved. This 2-pack is perfect for fans to fill out their toy armies: the knight figure can double as either the leader or as one of the corps, and the Deadite figure is based on the skeleton troops seen in the stop-motion scenes and the puppeteer skeleton marching scenes."

The Army Builder 2-pack has a projected release date of fall 2004.
