June 2, 2004 - Morris, IL - The International Comic Arts Association (ICAA) is pleased to announce that it has teamed up with creator A. David Lewis to give away copies of the new Mortal Coils: Bodylines trade paperback. The book - just recently released by Red Eye Press & Caption Box - collects the first four installments of the critically acclaimed series as well as three all new stories, new sketches, script annotations by the author, a 16-page color section, an introduction by Mark Waid and a wrap-around cover by artist J.K. Woodward. The ICAA will be giving away two copies of the 170-plus page book to randomly selected winners who enter the giveaway on the ICAA website, www.comicarts.org. Additionally, three more copies of the trade paperback are to be given away randomly to existing fan members of the ICAA. All winners will be announced on June 21st.
Debuting in 2002, Mortal Coils has garnered critical acclaim for its creative storytelling and complex plot lines. These tales of psychological suspense are unique in that they offer stand-alone stories from a single author, yet are each drawn by a different artist in a different genre: science fiction, horror, melodrama and supernatural settings all keep readers compelled with a connecting conspiracy subplot. You can learn more about Mortal Coils at the title's Mini-site: www.MortalCoils.com.
"We're very happy to be able to offer these copies of Mortal Coils: Bodylines as a give-away to our website visitors and as a reward to our fan members. It's one of the small ways the ICAA can thank its members for their support and we are planning several other give-aways in the future for our members," stated ICAA Executive Director, Erik Enervold. "Since its release, Mortal Coils has been generating a lot of positive reviews from fans and from the industry press. The ICAA is happy to support the book and we hope that we can draw some attention to a title worthy of wider exposure. We would like to thank A. David Lewis and Red Eye Press for generously donating these books to us, and also for their support of the ICAA and our efforts."
