LEGO Spider-Man 2 Film Short

July 2, 2004 - Spite Your Face Productions Ltd. are proud to present their new film 'Spider-Man: The Peril of Doc Ock', which will debut exclusively on http://movies.yahoo.com and http://yahooligans.yahoo.com from July 2nd. The short, featuring animated LEGO toys, is an action packed, comical take on the Spider-Man movies, commissioned by Sony Pictures, Marvel Studios and The LEGO Group to tie in with the release of 'Spider-Man 2.'

Spite Your Face Productions co-director Tim Drage said: "We've tried to bring a touch of Hollywood grandeur to the miniature world of the LEGO man. I think people will be surprised by the scope of the film."

The 4-minute film, written, directed and animated by Tim Drage and Tony Mines, brings the new Spider-Man 2 LEGO range to life using a combination of traditional stop-motion techniques and computer animation effects. While the animation was shot in Bristol, with post-production in London, the Spite Your Face team worked internationally to produce the sound track. Director Tony Mines said: "American composer Jason Graves did such excellent work for us previously on 'Star Wars: The Han Solo Affair', he had to be our first choice for the new film."

From the 6th of July, following its exclusive four day run on Yahoo, 'Spider-Man: The Peril of Doc Ock' will be available to view on www.spiteyourface.com and www.lego.com. The film will be be making numerous other appearances in the coming months, on tv and in stores world wide - with a special surprise due for later this year.
