August 5, 2004 (SEATTLE) - WizKids Inc., makers of the best-selling MechWarrior®, Mage Knight™, and HeroClix® collectable miniatures games (CMGs), is proud to announce a special prize for the winner of the 2004 Mage Knight World Championship at Gen Con Indy.
"We've always liked to allow our players input in the development of Mage Knight fiction," said Jordan Weisman, WizKids CEO. "This year, the winning player will choose a subfaction to completely eliminate from the Mage Knight universe!" During the awards ceremony at Gen Con Indy on August 22, the 2004 Mage Knight world champion will eliminate one of three long-established subfactions: the Deathspeakers, the Northlanders or the Shadow Khans. The chosen subfaction will never again appear in future Mage Knight releases, and the story of its downfall will be told in the Scrying Chamber section of the official Mage Knight website.
The rich backstory and history of Mage Knight is chronicled in a series of novels and comic books, and it is also detailed online at wizkidsgames.com/mageknight/chamber.
