It's Official: Avengers Series 3 R.I.P.

 First there was the silence. Then the rumors began. Now, the truth can be told. The Avengers have been defeated. Oh, sure the comic still goes on but the animated series, and the Toy Biz toyline are officially history. News of the series cancelation has been known for sometime now, but Toy Biz has just confirmed that the much anticipated third assortment of Avengers: United They Stand action figures (which featured Marvel mainstays Thor and Iron Man, along with Hawkeye 2, Antman 2 and Remnant), as well as the Deluxe Evil Ultron and Quinjet playset will not see the light of day.This is sad news for fans looking forward to these figures. Chances of the figures, even surefire winners such as Thor and Iron Man, showing up via another avenue such as Previews has been described as "slim to none". [Posted 5/25/2000]
