October 2004 Battlestar Galactica Toys from Japan! By John T Wong, Action-HQ.com
Remember the old science fiction series from the '70's, Battlestar Galactica? Not old enough to remember? How about the mini-series on Sci-Fi Channel in 2003? In any case, get ready for the new TV series in January 2005. Well, whether you prefer the original or the new series, these upcoming toys from Konami Japan will definitely be for you!
Not many toys have come out for this fan favorite yet short-lived show since the series' original release over 25 years ago. A few odd pieces from Mattel back then and a figure or 2 around 7 years back but nothing too exemplary. Now with the drastic improvements in toy and figure production in recent years, it seems that quality replicas based on the series that are worth buying are finally on their way.
Konami Japan is scheduled to release in December 2004, five of the most recognized figure/ships from the original series. These 5 are also represented in the newer series and consist of the following: - Silver Centurion Cylon
- Battlestar Galactica (Nova Class)
- Cylon Raider MK-II
- Colonial Viper MK-II
- Cylon Basestar
The above will be sold randomly in small boxes as "trading figures" (or Collection Series) for sale in Japan only, normally. We are fortunate enough to be able to offer these to our base of worldwide customers. Each will be around 3" in length with quality sculpting and detail painting which is par for the course these days. They will retail for 300 yen plus VAT (value added tax).
For you fans, young or old, that must have everything, this will make a great collector's item or gift for the coming holiday. We expect our lot sell out fast so hurry and reserve your imported set of 5 at Action-HQ.com for $29.95!
