pikachu_1.gif - 3742 Bytes4 Kids Entertainment, Inc., a leading domestic and international merchandise licensing, production and product development company, announced on Friday that The International Licensing Industry Merchandisers' Association (LIMA) bestowed three prestigious honors to 4Kids Entertainment for Pokemon. The categories were: License of the Year, the Entertainment/Character Licensee of the Year, and the Entertainment/Character Retailer of the Year.

At Licensing 2000 International Show, some of the biggest attractions proved to be the properties of 4Kids Entertainment, Inc. There was an overwhelming turnout at the 4Kids Entertainment exhibit booth featuring Pokemon, the U.S. Hot Rod Association Monster Trucks, and Nintendo, which featured three new game releases, Mario Tennis, The Legend of Zelda: Majora's Mask and Perfect Dark. Also featured was WCW, with appearances by top wrestling superstars Hulk Hogan and Goldberg among others. One of the major draws at the trade show, Pokemon, was to be a big winner at the LIMA Gala that followed. Through the outstanding efforts of the 4 Kids licensing company, Leisure Concepts, Inc., Pokemon was the licensing industry winner that night and will be releasing its second feature film nationwide on July 21, 2000.

Commenting on the achievement, Al Kahn, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer stated, ``Receiving these prestigious awards from our peers is just further verification of the tremendous strength of Pokemon. I would personally like to thank everyone who participates in making Pokemon the global success that it is.''

At Licensing 2000 a buzz and a great deal of interest was also received on the new 4 Kids properties, Tama and Friends and Cubix.Cubix, the robot, with incredible powers and heart of gold, together with best pal Bobby, lead The Boltix in their fight against evil, solving the many mysteries of Bubble Town. ``The elements that make this property so exciting for the licensing industry is the fact that in Bubble Town there is a robot for everyone,'' stated Mr. Kahn. 4Kids licensed Cubix to the Kids WB! for national debut in January 2001.

``We are also very excited about Tama and Friends. It has already achieved success in both broadcasting and licensing in Japan for almost two decades,'' stated Mr. Kahn. Tama and Friends , is a high quality, endearing animated series, which follows the life and times of Tama the cat and Tama's many cat and dog friends, which proves the fact that both cats and dogs can get along.

Headquartered in New York City, 4Kids Entertainment, Inc., is a vertically-integrated entertainment company whose wholly-owned subsidiaries include: Leisure Concepts, Inc., a leader in domestic and international merchandise licensing and product development; 4Kids Productions, a television, film, music and home video production company, and Summit Media, a domestic and international television distribution, media buying and planning company.
