BURBANK, Calif. -- June 13, 2005 -- Consumers will be spellbound by the highly-anticipated DVD releases of Warner Home Video (WHV) and DIC Entertainment's (DIC) "Trollz Volume 1: Best Friends for Life" and "Trollz Volume 2: Magic of the Five," the first two of nine planned movies from the newly launched Trollz property.
Both full-length, made-for-video animated movies will be available in stores September 6 and will retail for $19.98 (SRP).
Trollz are the contemporary and stylized version of the world-famous spiky-haired characters originally created by Thomas Dam in Denmark more than 50 years ago. Today's Trollz have been stylishly updated by Estevan Ramos, fashion designer for talent such as Britney Spears and Christina Aguilera, and have emerged as the all-new, much-anticipated entertainment lifestyle brand for "tweens."
Trollz Volumes 1 and 2 focus on the adventures of five teenage best friends Amethyst, Onyx, Sapphire, Topaz and Ruby, each of whom is very different from the other. Each friend offers her unique style in personality, color, fashion symbol and gemstone. While each is different, they are best friends and together they form the "Magic of The Five."
"Volume 1: Best Friends for Life" follows the colorful, big-haired adventures of the adorable, trend-setting Trollz gang as they learn a valuable lesson that strengthens their bond as friends. When jealousy leads to a spell gone awry, the five best friends learn about friendship and forgiveness and renew their vow to be "Best Friends For Life" (B.F.F.L) in the debut special.
