Sept 9: Bandai's One Piece CCG
|
Cypress CA. - 8/3/05 - Bandai Collectible Game's new One Piece Collectible Card Game will recreate the piratical confrontations between Luffy and his merry band of pirates and the most notorious pirates sailing the Grand Line in search of the One Piece treasure. But there's more...
"There is an opportunity with this game to provide not only the thrill of gameplay, but the excitement of a treasure hunt," said Danny Satyapan, marketing manager for Bandai CG. "We have created an insert level that is unlike any in the market."
The inserts included in the new One Piece booster packs will already thrill and excite spelunkers who rip packs to find super rare inserts. Quite literally, there is silver and gold to be found by CCG treasure seekers. One in every 12 packs will include silver stamped rare cards; or "Silver-Rares." One in every 24 packs will see a "Golden-Rare." Every pack will include a holofoil parallel card. So there are riches to be found in every pack and if players and fans dig a little deeper, they are sure to strike gold.
Every pack will also contain one of three "Luffy's Hidden Treasure" cards. Each of these redemption cards depicts a piece of a treasure map that will lead to the ultimate treasure in gold: a limited edition golden over-sized "Luffy" card. Collect all three pieces, and you have found the treasure! Simply send them to Bandai to collect your booty!
Pieces of the map will be found in each booster pack of the One Piece CCG, as well as in the new "One Piece Grand Battle" video game. In addition, a map piece will also be available in issue #34 of Shonen Jump magazine.
"This has all the makings of a great game: easy to learn and difficult to master," Satyapan continued, "but in the current market, retailers need a reason to try new products. The One Piece CCG will provide an opportunity for secondary sales and create an exciting environment of trading and collecting through this special treasure hunt."
The One Piece CCG will be available in Starter Decks and booster packs September 9th. Check out the website for more details and for updates on the quest for "Luffy's Hidden Treasure."
