Forget the Hot Coffee! Have the Time of Your Life at the Penny-Arcade Expo
Second Annual Gaming Festival is Bigger, Bolder and Badder with More Games, More Exhibitors, More Musical Guests and More Fun.
Seattle, WA - August 19, 2005: In a mere three weeks, gamers of the world will begin their pilgrimage to Bellevue, WA to participate in the second annual Penny-Arcade Expo (PAX). Established by the founders of www.penny-arcade.com, the hit web comic and journal that cover videogames and popular culture, this three day event offers a profusion of video games, gaming competitions, musical acts, exhibitors, pen & paper gaming plus a few surprises. PAX will be held at the Meydenbauer Center in downtown Bellevue from August 26th to 28th.
"Basically, we're throwing a three-day party and everyone's invited," said Mike "Gabe" Krahulik.
The exhibitors, sponsors and performers for PAX 2005 read like a virtual 'who's who' of gaming digeratti including: Turbine, Microsoft, Nintendo, BAWLS, Ubisoft, Widow PC, Alienware, Majesco, Sweet Kitty, Army of the United States of America, NCSoft, Themis Group/Perpetual Entertainment, Privateer Press, Garage Games, Red vs Blue, Nvidia, Vivendi Universal, Flying Lab Software, Game Skins, Prima Games, Upper Deck, Sigil, The Frag Dolls, Saber Tooth/Games Workshop, Speakeasy, the MiniBosses, MC Frontalot, Optimus Rhyme, MC Chris and many more.
Gold sponsor, Turbine, Inc., a premier publisher of online subscription entertainment will be showcasing two of its highly anticipated titles - Dungeons & Dragons® Online: Stormreach, the first project fully developed, funded and operated by Turbine, and The Lord of the Rings Online™: Shadows of Angmar™, the only massively multi-player online role-playing game (MMORPG) based on the works of J.R.R. Tolkien.
"I'm curious to see what Turbine has on offer this year at PAX. Like any self-respecting nerd, dweeb, or dork, much of my adolescence was spent in the basement with dice in my hand - and that's not a double entendre. Or at least, it wasn't on purpose. Now that I think about it, it sounds kind of bad," commented Gerry "Tycho" Holkins of Penny-Arcade.
