Celebrate 50 Years with Corgi

In the press release below, "Toy Fair" refers to the UK Toy Fair, not the American International Toy Fair, but we are anticipating that Corgi will show many of the same items at both.

January 2006 - A toy-tastic start to the year sees Corgi open a huge toybox of brand new products set to delight kids of all ages as it gears up to celebrate its 50th anniversary. The birthday bonanza teams innovation with new versions of firm Corgi favourites.

New in January:

  • GoGo Rollers is 'baby's first set of wheels', and Corgi's first offering for children under three, bringing real-life vehicle play to developmental toys. Their clever design suspends a vehicle in a ball so that however the GoGo Roller rolls, the vehicle stays upright.
  • Corgi Wheelz, aimed at bringing die-cast to a younger generation, is expanding its successful Streakerz range. These really fast die-cast cars with 'phat' wheels can now light up, extend or transform to reveal new look cars. Take the 'Vertical Challenge', and see how many Streakerz you can get running inverted on the 3D motorized track set.
  • Twisterz, also from Corgi Wheelz, are designed in two halves. Twist the front and back to power them up and put them down to release the speed. With 18 to collect, all of which can be split and re-joined with any other Twister, there are hundreds of possible style combinations.

For your eyes only at Toy Fair, Corgi will unveil 007's vehicle range for the new Bond film, Casino Royale.

And, there's much, much more...

Alex Balzaretti, Marketing Manager Toys and Special Interest said: "What better way to celebrate our 50th birthday at Corgi than with a bumper year of toys as we build strong offerings across our pre-school, Corgi Wheelz and licensing ranges.

"GoGo Rollers continues a fine tradition of toy vehicle innovation at Corgi, stretching back five decades. And the new James Bond car crowns Corgi's 40 year relationship with 007 in miniature."
