Navia Dratp CSG "New Player Weekend"
February 28, 2006 - Cypress, CA. - This coming March 24th - 27th, Bandai Collectible Games will invite anyone who enjoys strategy board games to over 150 hobby stores around the country to play and purchase the Navia Dratp Collectible Strategy Game. Bandai believes in the gameplay so much so, that they are shipping thousands of free starters and boosters to hobby stores across the US and Canada.
"First and foremost," said Andrew Lupp, National Sales Manager for Bandai Collectible Games, "Navia Dratp has a designation all its own. We use the name "Collectible Strategy Game," because the collectibility of the figures plays a secondary role to the replay of the game. It is almost as if Chess or other non-collectible strategy board game added a limited amount of collectible pieces. The message of this weekend is simple: If you try the game, you'll want the game."
For that reason, Bandai has run a national ad in several hobby gaming magazines, advertising the new lower price of starters sets ($14.95) and Unleashed Darkness boosters ($4.99). Also during this weekend, anyone can receive two free "Unleashed Darkness" boosters with the purchase of a Starter Set. The ad also lists all of the hobby locations where the "learn to play" weekend will take place. Every participating hobby store is receiving one free case of starters and one free case of boosters for the promotion.
Persephone
To make the promotional weekend even more exciting, and to give collectors of the figures something incredible to brag about: 150 limited edition figures of the seventh Navia: Persephone have been produced. New and current players alike can receive this figure if they send in one each of the character cards from each of the six existing Navia (Estelle, Debora, Kraa, Io, Chakrapicky and Hillgao) currently available in starters and boosters. The limited edition Persephone figure will be shipped back with the players' cards. This redemption offer will also be advertised at the weekend events.
Navia currently has an organized play program with exclusive gold-based, crystal and glow-in-the-dark promo figures, leather playmates, and more.
"This is a game that will appeal to the older players with longer attention spans." Lupp continued. "It also appeals to younger audiences that have an interest in truly challenging strategy games. Think of it as starting a fantasy chess club in your hobby shop."
