Equity Renews Scooby-Doo License

equity_scoobydoo.gif - 14032 BytesEquity Marketing, Inc. and Warner Bros. Consumer Products have renewed their licensing agreement for Scooby-Doo, the animated Great Dane that has been delighting children and their parents for more than 30 years.

Under the terms of the agreement, Equity will continue to serve as the Scooby-Doo master toy licensee through the end of 2003. Equity will design and produce Scooby-Doo plush, figures, play-sets, bath toys and talking items.

``Scooby-Doo generates a great response from retailers and is a hit with consumers, both young and old,'' said Patrick Enright, Equity's Vice President of Consumer Products. ``We are extremely pleased to renew our license with Warner Bros. Consumer Products and look forward to expanding the Scooby-Doo brand. Thanks in part to Scooby, we expect sales for Equity Consumer Products to grow significantly this year.''

``Equity has helped make Scooby-Doo special to a whole new generation of fans,'' said Karen McTier, Senior Vice President, North American Sales for Warner Bros. Consumer Products. ``We're proud to build upon the already successful relationship between Warner Bros. Consumer Products and Equity Marketing.''

Equity recently introduced Pogo-Jumping Scooby-Doo, which will be hopping onto kids' wish lists this holiday season. Pogo-Jumping Scooby-Doo is two toys in one. As a stand-alone plush toy, Scooby-Doo says six different signature phrases simply by pressing his left ear. Attach Scooby-Doo to the pogo stick and he becomes a jumping Great Dane, with nine additional ``groovy'' phrases and a pogo stick that makes a ``boing-boing'' sound. Pogo-Jumping Scooby-Doo will be supported by advertising and promotion activities beginning in October 2000.
