Diamond Comic Distributors & Previews Announce Creator Signings for Comic-Con International: San Diego
Möebius, Jeff Smith, Dabel Bros. and Many More on Hand to Greet Conventioneers
July 2006 - Diamond Comic Distributors and Previews magazine have announced its star-studded line-up of creators scheduled to sign autographs at their booth (#2401) during Comic-Con International: San Diego (July 20-23, San Diego Convention Center).
"We are delighted to host several of comics' top creators, representing a wide spectrum of genres with equally vast appeal," said Diamond Public Relations Associate Elissa Lynch. "Comic fans, science-fiction and fantasy enthusiasts, and readers of all ages will want to visit the Diamond Previews booth to meet these talented and engaging guests during these signings."
Headlining the signings will be industry legend Möebius (Jean Giraud), the multi-award-winning visionary storyteller whose latest work - Marvel Comics' The Halo Graphic Novel - joins the expansive list of his creations, which include Blueberry (with Jean-Michel Charlier), Arzach, The Airtight Garage, and many other acclaimed comic, film, and video game works. In addition to Möebius, other Halo Graphic Novel creators scheduled to sign at the Diamond booth include Phil Hale, Lee Hammock, Justin Sweet, Doug Alexander, John Van Fleet and Ed Lee.
The Diamond booth will also host Jeff Smith, creator of the widely acclaimed black-&-white comic adventure Bone, now being reprinted in full-color by Scholastic as part of its Graphix graphic novel line. The lost Bone cousins and their supporting cast were introduced to comic readers in 1991 when Smith started the saga and his company, Cartoon Books. Many years, awards and accolades followed, quickly cementing Smith's position as one of the industry's leading independent creators.
Another luminary scheduled to appear at Diamond's booth in San Diego will be Raymond E. Feist, the New York Times bestselling author of the Magician: Apprentice series by Dabel Brothers Productions. This first chapter in Feist's epic, bestselling Riftwar saga will be brought to comics in a stellar adaptation written by Michael Avon Oeming and Bryan J.L. Glass and richly illustrated by Brett Booth, making it a highly anticipated event among the many readers of the author and creators.
