MGA ENTERTAINMENT AWARDED DVD GAMES LICENSE FROM SONY PICTURES CONSUMER PRODUCTS FOR JEOPARDY AND WHEEL OF FORTUNE
Los Angeles - September 19, 2006 -- MGA Entertainment, Inc. announced today that it has signed a licensing agreement with Sony Pictures Consumer Products to create DVD games based on the mega-hit shows Jeopardy! and Wheel of Fortune.
The three-year agreement gives MGA the DVD game rights to bring Jeopardy! America's favorite quiz show to retail beginning Spring 2007. Wheel of Fortune, the #1 game show in the history of syndicated television, will follow up the Jeopardy! DVD game in early 2008.
Under the license, MGA will utilize new and innovative technology to bring the Jeopardy! game experience to life for consumers, including the use of wireless buzzers, authentic graphics and traditional game play elements that audiences have come to love over the years. Also, supplemental Quiz Pack discs for the Jeopardy! DVD game will be available following the release of the base system.
"Jeopardy! and Wheel of Fortune are evergreen TV Game Shows," said Isaac Larian, CEO of MGA Entertainment. "We're grateful for the opportunity to bring these classic entertainment brands into every home as exciting, interactive DVD games to enjoy time after time."
"This product will offer a great way for fans of both shows to experience the excitement of playing the game at home with family and friends," said Mark Caplan, Vice President, Hardlines, Sony Pictures Consumer Products.
MGA Entertainment's DVD Games division recently released the $100,000 Pyramid DVD game (MSRP: $19.99), based on the well-known TV Game show from Sony Pictures Television. MGA continues to bring cutting-edge, quality products to the family game market utilizing proprietary technology.
