CS Moore: Frazetta Conan Statues

Jan 09, 2007 - Paradox Entertainment, Inc. and Frank Frazetta have granted The CS Moore Studio the license to create new statues based on Frazetta's dramatic illustrations of Robert E Howard's legendary Conan the Barbarian.

The first piece from The CS Moore Studio will be Conan the Conqueror, based on Frazetta's cover image of the Robert E. Howard book of the same name, released by Lancer Books in 1967. Known to some as "The Berserker," this piece is arguably the most celebrated Conan illustration ever. The cold-cast porcelain, hand-painted piece will be sculpted by Clayburn Moore, and will feature the warrior Conan astride his horse, with sword and shield extended for battle. A bronze edition is also planned.

Moore created sculptures based on Frank Frazetta's amazing work in the late '90s, all of which sold through quickly and are highly sought after by collectors. This new license allows Moore to use his talents to express "Conan the Conqueror" in dramatic three-dimensional form, and to give fans of both Frazetta and Moore a signature piece for their collections.

"I have always wanted to sculpt this incredibly dynamic piece," said Moore. "Frazetta is unquestionably one of the greatest talents of our day. It's an honor to have the opportunity to bring 'Conan the Conqueror' to sculpture form."

"We're looking forward to The CS Moore Studio bringing Robert E. Howard's Conan to life as an incredibly stunning piece," said Thommy Wojciechowski, Manager of Creative Affairs at Paradox Entertainment. "We know that the combination of Clay's artistic ability and Frazetta's stunning interpretation of the character will end up as nothing short of fantastic."

The CS Moore Studio is also pleased to offer a bronze edition of Conan the Barbarian, the powerful piece previously released by Moore as Frazetta's Barbarian. This piece is limited to 50 pieces, and will be available for order on the CS Moore Studio website.

More information on the Conan the Conqueror Statue, including release date, pricing, and edition size, will be announced as it becomes available at www.csmoorestudio.com.
