Chet Jacques and the McFarlane Toys Collectors Club was on hand at the Mid-Ohio Con.
The Club was offering attendees a chance to purchase the Club-exclusive Flukeman figure, from the classic X-Files episode and the Bag of Dragons for the low cost of $10 each.
As always the Club had a few surprises on hand, and a glimpse into the near future of McFarlane Toys. Toy Fair is a huge event for the company, and they don't want to give away too many surprises at this early date, but we managed to wrangle a few cool tidbits out of Chet that will be of interest to fans of McFarlane Toys.
Ever since McFarlane Toys first announced they had the rights to the X-Files feature film from a few years back, fans of the hit FOX series have been clamoring for a figure of the eerie Flukeman (right) creature from the classic second season episode, "The Host".
When plans for a continuation of the X-Files toyline fell through, hopes for the Flukeman figure ever seeing the light of day seemed dashed. However, the figure resurfaced in McFarlane Toys showroom at Toy Fair this past year and, finally, the figure became an exclusive offering of the company's Toy Club.
Also available at the booth was the Bag of Dragons (below). Similar to the previous exclusive Bag of Demons, this new Bag of Dragons comes with 8 bendable dragon figures for your enjoyment. The Bag of Dragons is the perfect gift for the dragon fan on your Christmas list.
The latest exclusive from the McFarlane Toy Club is an extremely cool Spawn figure that offers fans and collectors the ultimate version of the popular comic-book character.Using the body first seen with the release of the Spawn III figure, and the rubber cape that was added when the figure was re-offered as a KB Toys exclusive (along with a new unmasked head) and a new masked head, McFarlane Toys can now offer a terrific, comic-accurate and highly poseable Spawn action figure (11 points of articulation). This figure is available from The Club.

Of course, what would a Chet appearance be without one of his crazy customs. Folks have been begging McFarlane Toys to produce a Pinhead figure as part of the company's popular Movie Maniacs line ever since the line was first announced a few years back. Always happy to cater to the wishes of the fans, Chet presents his own Pinhead figure - Tzippy the Pinhead! Also on display at the booth, but unavailable for photographs, was the repaint edition of the Classic Spawn assortment. Far from being merely repaints, each figure also includes some newly sculpted parts. Spawn, Medieval Spawn and Al Simmons now feature straight legs, and can stand without use of their bases (which are also new). Tiffany features a new headress. Malebogia has a new headsculpt, and comes in a sickly grey color scheme. The Clown has the disturbing addition of a small Violator creature emerging from his abdomen. Look for the repaints beginning in January 2001.
Painted test shots of Spawn Series 18, Interlink Six, was on display (no photography was permitted). This mech series features greater articulation than most recent McFarlane offerings, and features the added bonus of being able to link all the figures together to create a massive 22" tall mech. Look for the Spawn Interlink assortment to hit stores in February 2001.
Beyond Interlink, fans can look forward to a Samurai Spawn assortment in the Summer consisting of six figures, and possibly a deluxe figure of some kind. The Samurai assortment will be followed by Classic Spawn 2 featuring more figures based directly on the comic book series.
