The 20th Annual Mid-Ohio-Con was held over the Thanksgiving weekend at the Adam's Mark Hotel in downtown Columbus, Ohio and Raving Toy Maniac was there!
The two-day event featured a variety of guests from the comic, entertainment and toy industries including Lou "The Incredible Hulk" Ferrigno, Dawn "Mary Ann" Wells, Mark "Maj. Don West" Goddard and Gerard "Superboy" Christopher, all of whom participated in the Television Superstars panel on Saturday morning.
The biggest news event coming out of the convention was the debut of the new creator-owned imprint from Image Comics, Gorilla Comics. This new group of talented comics creators includes Mark Waid, Kurt Busiek, Tom Grummett, Karl Kesel, Joe Kelley, Mike Wieringo, and Barry Kitson and Dave Olbrich. The guys from Gorilla Comics were all obviously excited about the prospect of working on their own creations, and their enthusiam was contagious. These are some of the brightest stars in the comics industry, so be sure to keep your eyes out for the first books from Gorilla Comics!
