Playing Mantis continues the Captain Action line with
classic re-releases, including Action Boy who is now called Action Lad.
This year Dr Evil finally
gets some outfits for himself. If the photos are any indication, Dr Evil
may have a new skin tone as well.
Playing Mantis may release some future Captian Action sets as
clothes and masks only, but this is still to be determined.
Playing Mantis is bringing back another old favorite,
Mego's Action Jackson 8" figure. The first series is a
KayBee exclusive. There are 3 sets including a scuba
diver, a spy and a commando. The body will NOT
be the old Mego, but will be based on it with some improvements. They
promise it will be in scale with the old body so you can use the new
figures with old outfits.
In addition to old favorites, Playing Mantis has the license to do
"Mystery Men" figures. The movie is a story of misfit superheros
and stars Ben Stiller, Paul Reubens, Janine Garrafolo and more. The
figures look great, but no photography was allowed.
