San Diego Comic Con International:
MGA Entertainment
MGA Entertainment, the makers of Bratz fashion dolls, had a display at Comic-Con to display their new Alien Racers product line. (They will also be at the Wizard World Chicago convention, August 13 to 15, 2004.)
The Alien Racers action figures will be available exclusively at Toys'R'Us in Fall 2004. The R/C vehicles and comic books will be available separately.
The concept of Alien Racers is that a planet (Xenoc) with incredible kinetic energy powers has been destroying other worlds. An advanced species called the Zenterrans has "bottled up" the energy of Xenoc, and to prevent other species from going to war to possess the energy, they have set up a racing competition on Xenoc. The species that wins the race will be allowed to possess the energy.
The "Alien Racers" are competing for the energy: Ultrox comes from a scientifically-minded people, Gnarl from a warrior species, and G'Rog from a species of athletes. Skrash came to the race on his own and represents only himself. In the race, the racers are allowed to try to disable each other's vehicles, which should make for interesting "action features" in the r/c vehicle toys.
