San Diego Comic-Con International
The San Diego Comic-Con International (also known as SDCC and as CCI) is a huge convention, and can be overwhelming if you haven't been there before, or if your previous convention experience is limited to smaller shows.
The following pages are filled with advice on attending large conventions, and many also offer San Diego-specific advice:
- MillionairePlayboy.com's Comic Convention Tips - general advice about conventions, including input from the female species.
- Advice on Attending San Diego Comic Con - SDCC-specific advice from Julius Marx of Action Figure Times.
- How to Survive an Anime (or Any) Convention - one of several "How To" tips pages from Anime Tourist. Their others are: How to Pack for an Anime Convention, How to Be a Fan at an Anime Convention, and the very-handy How to Spot Fake Anime Goods.
- POVonline Comic Convention Guide - Ten tips, simple and to the point. Commit them to memory.
- Tart Roundtable - Convention Tips - several staffers from the Sequential Tart list their top tips for attending conventions. This is a long page, but worth reading.
- Con Tips from the Sequential Tart - an older article, and they aren't kidding about the Band-Aids.
- Tips and Tricks of the Con - San Diego-specific advice, including special tips about the ATM machine in the convention hall and the locations of a few nearby ATMs. Includes a link to another tip list written in 1996, which is still valid in 2004.
- San Diego 2003 Survival Guide - from the "Warning: Possible Spoilers" blog, this was written for the 2003 Comic-Con, but is still good advice for 2004.
