As the master toy licensee for Yu-Gi-Oh!(tm), Mattel will introduce action figures and accessories, board games, puzzles, vehicles, playsets, activity toys, role playing products, youth electronics and ViewMaster products in 2002.

Yu-Gi-Oh!, which has already generated more than $2 billion in revenue in Japan, is based on a comic book series, which follows the adventures of Yugi, a high school student. Yugi's grandfather gives him an ancient Egyptian item called the "Millennium Puzzle" and when Yugi pieces the puzzle together he unexpectedly receives a powerful alter ego, and becomes the "King of Games." Every week Yugi battles opponents with virtual reality monster rivals and the "King of Games" takes over to protect him and his friends.

"Yu-Gi-Oh!," the animated television show, debuted on the Kids' WB! Saturday morning schedule in October 2001, and was the #1-rated broadcast program in its time period. "Yu-Gi-Oh!" ranks among the top 10 broadcast programs among boys 6-11 years old. So, if you don't know Yu-Gi-Oh!, then you will soon!

HEXONS GAME: Hexons is a collectible battle tile game system that combines the strategy of chess with the moves of checkers. The game pieces consist of six-sided metal tiles representing the main characters, monsters, spells and traps as seen on the television series, "Yu-Gi-Oh!" Each of the Hexons' six sides have different attack values that combine with the unique character tiles to create more damaging attacks. Players command one character surrounded by an army of monster tiles, battling their opponent's monsters as they navigate through their defenses. The first to capture the opposing player's character tile wins. Comes with game mat and two chains so kids can hang and wear their collectible Hexon pieces.

YU-GI-OH!(tm) MILLENNIUM GAME: The Millennium Game is an exciting new board game that lets kids get into the action of Yu-Gi-Oh!(tm). In order to become the "King of Games," players must obtain all five pieces of the 3D Millennium Puzzle. Each player begins the game in the Ultimate Dueling Arena with one piece of the puzzle. Players need powerful monsters to win the "Arena" duels, and gather them by visiting the "Game Shops" located at the four corners of the board. Players move between the Arena and the Game Shops, battling in three separate duels along the way - Janken, Saikoro and Ikusa - trying to get the most powerful Monster Slider Cards. They return to the Arena to compete for the remaining puzzle pieces. The first player to assemble the Millennium Puzzle wins.
