Play Along Revives Popular American Greetings Property for Toy Fair 2002

New York, New York (December 14, 2001) -- Play Along, Inc. will develop and distribute a line of plush dolls, figurines and play sets for the Care Bears -- a classic, beloved American Greetings property popular in the 1980's.

Care Bears -- 20th Anniversary

Originally launched in 1982, the Care Bears has become a billion-dollar licensed brand with categories ranging from toys and t-shirts to film and TV. Play Along will re-launch the classic Care Bears line in full retro-style as they were originally depicted and packaged. This nostalgic line will be carried at specialty retailers only, and will ship in spring of 2002.

In celebration of the properties' 20th Anniversary, Play Along will launch a new line with an updated brand look for the mass market. The line will include beanie collectible plush, 13" plush, special feature plush, collectible figurines, and clip-ons. There will be a major television advertising campaign in the fall of 2002 to promote this line, which will be available at mass retailers, shipping in summer of 2002. Retail prices will range from $5.99 to $29.99. Exclusives on feature items or characters will be available.

Play Along currently holds a lucrative list of licenses for Britney Spears, Mandy Moore, Aaron Carter, A*Teens, Dream, Sisqo, 2gether, Serena and Venus Williams, and brands such as Sabrina the Teenage Witch and Bubble Gum.
