Mattel: Imaginext
First introduced in 2002, Imaginext is an "adventure playset system" which uses panels that can be easily snapped together so that you can quickly build the playset. For 2003, the construction and castle sets are expanded, and pirates and coastal patrols are added.
New sets for 2003 include (other smaller sets will also be available):
- Rumblin' Rocks Construction Set - a "power plug" (uses AA batteries) powers a crane, conveyor belt, and rock crusher. Due out in June 2003 for around $44.99 USD.
- Coastal Patrol Station - A lighthouse set with a rescue boat and dock. Due out in Spring 2003 for about $19.99.
- Pirate Raider - This ship has a firing cannon, a mast that topples with hit, a plank, and anchor. Due out in April 2003 for about $29.99.
- Buccaneer Bay - an island hideout for pirates, with a lookout tower, cannon, boat, dock, and secret hiding place for treasure. Due out in April 2003 for about $19.99.
- Lost Fortress - an expansion set to the Medieval Castle from 2002, the Lost Fortress includes a centaur among its figures. Due out in Spring 2003 for about $19.99.
