April 30, 2008 - The 2008 Free Comic Book Day is May 3. Check with your local comic book store to see if they are participating in Free Comic Book Day. Not all comic books are free during the event, but there is a fairly wide selection of special comics which will be free with no purchase required. (Comics publishers generally print special editions for Free Comic Book Day. Some are sampler titles, while others are complete stories.)
In addition to free comic books, many stores will be giving away additional items, including three different pieces from the Star Wars Collectible Miniature Game and a Marvel HeroClix Iron Man piece. The comic stores have to purchase the freebie items from the manufacturers in certain quantities, so smaller stores might not be offering the toys.
Dallas, Texas, has declared May 3 to be "Free Comic Book Day," so if you are in the Dallas area, be sure to stop by Craddock Park.
