On September 11, terrorists attacked the World Trade Center in New York and the Pentagon in Washington, DC. In addition to the civilians and military who were lost in both locations, numerous firefighters and police officers involved in the rescue efforts at the WTC were lost.

Carl Nordstrom (also known as Wing Zero on the ToyBuzz) has organized Operation Superman as a show of support from the collecting community to the firefighters and police officers and their families. The goal of Operation Superman is to collect Superman action figures to distribute to these brave rescue workers and their families. The action figures will be distributed by the middle of October.
