ORLANDO, Fla., Oct. 5 -- Following September's tragic events in New York, Pennsylvania, and Washington, the specialty toy industry faces a challenging retail environment. To assist retailers as their businesses recover in time for the holiday shopping season, Action Products International, Inc. (Nasdaq: APII), a leading educational toy company, is instituting a special four-point sales stimulus program for October.
Throughout October, Action Products will provide retailers with significant discounts on its entire product line, extended payment terms, and free "America the Beautiful" coloring books. In addition, the company will make charitable toy donations for families affected by September's tragedy.
Through this program, Action Products hopes to provide retailers with the foundation for a strong holiday season, and put smiles on children's faces with the coloring books and toy donations.
"We are very aware that recent events have impacted our customers'
business and want to let our retailers know that we care about them and their consumers. As our nation's leaders call on all of us to try to get back to 'normal,' we are happy to do what we can to help with this sales stimulus program," said CEO and Chairman of Action Products Ron Kaplan.
"We are very happy to take part in the program and appreciate the
initiative Action Products has taken to support us," said Justine Woreth, manager of Village Chemists of Setauket, a New York-based retailer.
