Two New 1935 Ford Sedan Diecasts from Hemmings

BENNINGTON, Vt., Nov. 6 -- Continuing its production of both traditional and street road die-cast model cars, Hemmings Motor News has introduced a 1935 Ford Sedan Delivery for the traditional line of die-cast replicas and a 1935 Ford Sedan Delivery Street Rod that continues the Hemmings Rods & Performance die-cast replica line. Both vehicles are on sale this week from http://www.hemmings.com or by calling 1-800-227-4373, ext. 550, and both cost $29.95 plus shipping.

The Hemming Rods and Performance die-casts, which started in 2000 with the debut of a 1932 Ford Highboy Roadster street rod bearing the Rods & Performance logo and eye-catching red paint scheme with yellow and orange flames, are named after the Hemmings magazine of the same name.

During the prewar years, other than radio and print ads, nothing worked better for a company to get its name out in the minds of the people than to have it emblazoned on the expansive steel panels of a utilitarian sedan delivery. The latest offering in the Hemmings Motor News collection of die-cast replicas recaptures those simpler times with a highly detailed 1:24 scale replica of the ubiquitous Ford Sedan Delivery, circa 1935. From its wire wheels with whitewall tires and opening engine covers and doors, to its accurately and completely finished-off flathead V-8 and working sprung suspension and a steering wheel that turns the front wheels, this is a true-to-life representation of the thousands of sedan deliveries that traveled the streets in days gone by doing light delivery duties. In the cargo section, there are even cases of Hemmings Motor News awaiting delivery! A very limited offering (only 625 made), the Hemmings Motor News 1935 Ford Sedan delivery is priced at $29.95 plus shipping.

For the inveterate car tinkerer, what could be cooler to add to the die-cast replica collection than a hot-rodded version of the 1935 Ford Sedan Delivery? Reflecting the typical modifications one finds in the street rod hobby today, this 1:24 scale Sedan Delivery has been thoroughly worked over. Under its folding engine covers one finds Ford's mighty 351-cubic inch Cleveland V-8 engine, complete with a chromed air cleaner and exhaust headers. Its sprung chassis rolls on wide mag rims with flat blackwall tires, and even its interior appointments are correct to the hot-rod hobby today, with late-model bucket seats and a four-spoke aftermarket steering wheel. And of course, it'll be painted in a modern metallic burgundy hue with ghosted flames on its front end. This one too is part of a very limited production run of 625 and priced at $29.95.
