Re:Action Figures: More 2000 A.D. Figures in 2000
|
RTM spoke with Marcus Simpson, of Re:Action Figures, earlier this week about the future of the 2000 A.D. action figure line, as well as other plans the company has for future products. The first series of 2000 A.D. action figures debuted in England at the Memorabilia 99 show in November, and made their way to the States in December through Previews. The figures were a big hit, with Judge Dredd being the most popular - especially stateside where most fans are familiar with the character through the Sylvester Stallone movie of a few years back. All the figures in the line were very well done, solid toys sporting generous articulation. The lineup for the first assortment was Dredd, Judge Anderson, Judge Death, Slaine the Beserker, Durnham Red, and Johnny Alpha (from Strontium Dogs). So, with their first release now well behind them, and a success, what does the future hold for Re:Action Figures? First up comes the next releases in the 2000 A.D.: Chief Judge Hershey, Mean Machine Angel and Rogue Trooper. Look for these new figures to be introduced into the line in August, along with some returning favorites from the first series. Another items in the works is Dredd's Lawmaster bike, tentatively scheduled for around the end of the year. The company is also hard at work planning a line based on the ABC Warriors feature that runs in 2000 A.D. This line of butt-kickin' robots is sure to be a big hit. RTM will bring you more information as it becomes available. [Updated 3/15//2000]
