Sideshow Toy Monster Update: Silver Screen and Shot Glasses

 Sideshow Toy has announced the release of The Silver Screen Edition of their Series 1 Universal Classic Monster Action Figure line. This special, limited-edition boxed set will include all three 8" figures from Series 1, and will feature the likenesses of Boris Karloff as Frankenstein's Monster and The Mummy, and Lon Chaney, Jr. as The Wolf Man.Each figure is painted in black and white, as they were seen in the original movies, and is packed in a decorative, embossed and foil stamped display box. Only 5,000 boxed sets will be manufactured. Each boxed set will be numbered and will include foil stamped signatures of the actors on the back panel.
The Silver Screen Edition of Series 1 is expected for release in May, and will be available at select specialty toy and collectible shops around the country, and directly from the Sideshow Toy website. The suggested retail price for this set is $50. Sideshow Toy will also release the Silver Screen Edition from Series II packed out on individual blister cards as a Toys R Us "exclusive" featuring black and white figures of the Creature from the Black Lagoon, the Phantom of the Opera and Bride of Frankenstein. These figures are scheduled for release in April. Sideshow has also announced another unique polystone product: Universal Studios Classic Monster Decorative Shot Glasses. These decorative heavy weight polystone shot glasses feature Frankenstein, Wolf Man, the Mummy and Dracula. The glasses stand 2.5" tall, with felt on the bottom of each base, and have a hand-painted finish.The set of 4 comes packed in a full-color display box and makes a great collectors set.
