12-inch bbi 101st Airborne Medic

airborne medic action figure0

December 2003 - 101st Airborne Medic
New WWII Elite Force Figure from bbi

With a slow, steady drip, the IV transfuses life saving fluids to the patients

The WWII Elite Force 101st Airborne figure could immediately turn a non-collector into a life-long devotee of 1:6 scale collectibles. Quite simply, the longer you look at this one, the more details you will see. Let's start with the array of fabrics and materials used to make each accessory and article of clothing stand out with unrivalled realism. While you are marveling at the olive canvassing of the stretcher, unfold it, lock the expandable latches in place, and notice the stenciling of the red cross, and date of issue stamped right on it. Now feel the silk of the camouflage scarf around our Medic, First Sergeant's neck. Unclip the metal fittings from the backpack according the directions that are actually stamped on to the metal fittings. Serial numbers, delineations and special instructions adorn many of the accessories - you may even need a magnifying glass to read the "scaled-to-size" words! Canvas bags with real metal grommets, a metal helmet and two IV's (could that reddish color be blood in the tubes?) make this figure the showpiece of the Elite Force WWII collection. This is the 2004 figure that will turn doubters into believers.

101st Airborne

The 101st Airborne Division, also know as the "Screaming Eagles," saw numerous actions in the European Theatre during WWII. Famous among these was "Market Garden," which was intended to isolate the German forces and shorten the war. While the operation did not go as planned, the 101st still managed to distinguish itself and strengthen its reputation.
