Ripley's horror at being the host for the Queen was compounded by her realization that her status as incubator was the only thing that saved her from the Dog Alien. Ripley's suicide scene - her sacrificial plunge into the molten lead in order to kill the Queen Chestburster - was one of the most dramatic moments in the Alien Quadrilogy.
